Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1½ cups fresh strawberries (hulled and pureed)
2½ cups all-purpose flour
2½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
1¾ cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup milk
For the Frosting:
1 cup butter (softened)
3½ cups powdered sugar
¼ cup strawberry puree
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Prepare the batter: Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Mix in strawberry puree and milk. Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt.
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
Make the frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar gradually, then mix in strawberry puree and vanilla until smooth.
Assemble and frost: Layer the cakes with frosting, then cover the outside. Decorate with sliced strawberries.
