Craving a fusion of creamy cheese and the rich flavors of Indian cuisine? Look no further! Paneer Cheese Pizza brings together the comforting allure of a classic pizza with the beloved Indian ingredient, paneer. Perfect for both vegetarians and those who love bold flavors, this pizza is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Here’s how you can make this delicious treat at home:

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

3/4 cup warm water

For the Toppings:

1 cup paneer (cubed)

1/2 cup pizza sauce or tomato sauce

1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1 small onion (thinly sliced)

1/2 bell pepper (thinly sliced)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh coriander (for garnish)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture, and knead the dough until smooth. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Step 2: Prepare the Paneer While the dough is rising, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cubed paneer and sauté for a few minutes until the paneer turns light golden brown. This will give it a crisp edge while keeping it soft inside. Once done, remove it from the heat and set it aside.

Step 3: Preheat the Oven Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you're using a pizza stone, make sure to preheat it as well for a crispy crust. If not, you can use a baking sheet.

Step 4: Assemble the Pizza Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it onto a floured surface. Roll the dough into your desired pizza shape (round or rectangular). Transfer the rolled dough to your baking sheet or pizza stone.

Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges for the crust. Evenly sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Step 5: Add the Toppings Add the sautéed paneer cubes, followed by the thinly sliced onions, bell peppers, and any additional toppings you desire. For a spicy kick, sprinkle chili flakes over the pizza. Dust some oregano over it for a burst of herby flavor.

Step 6: Bake the Pizza Drizzle a little olive oil over the pizza before placing it in the oven. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the cheese melts and bubbles up beautifully. Keep an eye on the pizza towards the end to ensure the crust doesn't get too dark.

Step 7: Garnish and Serve Once the pizza is out of the oven, garnish it with fresh coriander leaves for an added burst of flavor and color. Slice the pizza into pieces and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious homemade paneer cheese pizza!

Tips for the Perfect Paneer Cheese Pizza:

Customize your toppings: Feel free to add other toppings such as mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, or even sweet corn to make it your own.

Crispy crust: For an extra crispy crust, bake the pizza for a few more minutes or use a pizza stone for the best results.

Smoky flavor: Add a dash of smoked paprika or sprinkle some chat masala on the pizza once it’s out of the oven for a smoky Indian flavor.

Paneer texture: To make the paneer even more flavorful, marinate it in a bit of yogurt, turmeric, and garam masala before sautéing.
