Traditionally enjoyed with a rich chocolate dipping sauce, churros have become a global favorite. Whether you're making them for a party or a cozy dessert night, this homemade recipe ensures perfect churros every time!

Ingredients:

1 cup (250ml) water

2 1/2 tbsp (35g) unsalted butter

1 tbsp (12g) granulated sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

1 large egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Coating:

1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

1 tsp cinnamon powder

For Chocolate Sauce:

1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream

4 oz (115g) dark chocolate, chopped

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp honey or sugar (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Dough:

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and add the flour, stirring continuously until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let it cool slightly.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and well combined.

Shape the Churros:

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.

Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Coating:

Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.

Roll warm churros in the mixture until fully coated.

Chocolate Sauce:

Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.

Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate, butter, and honey until smooth.

Serve & Enjoy:

Serve warm churros with chocolate sauce on the side for dipping.

Tips for Perfect Churros:

Use a star-tip piping nozzle to achieve the classic ridges.

Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding.

If the dough is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk to adjust consistency.
