Here's a simple spaghetti recipe you can try:

Ingredients:

  • 200g spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Spaghetti:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions (usually 8-10 minutes) until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, sautéing until softened and fragrant (about 3-4 minutes).
    • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir. Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. If the sauce thickens too much, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
  3. Combine:

    • Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. If needed, add more pasta water to help combine the sauce with the spaghetti.
  4. Serve:

    • Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
