Ingredients:
200g mozzarella cheese (cut into sticks)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs (beaten)
1½ cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp dried oregano
¼ tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
Prep the Mozzarella:
Cut mozzarella into 3–4 inch sticks and freeze them for 30 minutes. This prevents melting too fast during frying.
Prepare the Coating Station:
Bowl 1: Flour + a pinch of salt
Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs + garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and a pinch of salt
Coat the Sticks:
Roll mozzarella sticks in flour
Dip in egg
Roll in seasoned breadcrumbs
Repeat the egg and breadcrumb step once more for extra crunch
Freeze Again:
Place coated sticks back in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
Fry:
Heat oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the sticks in batches until golden brown (about 1–2 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
Serve Hot : Serve with marinara or spicy ketchup dip.
