Paneer Tikka is a classic Indian appetizer loved for its smoky, spicy flavors and soft, grilled texture. Made with marinated paneer cubes and grilled to perfection, this dish is perfect for parties or a delicious evening snack. Let's dive into the recipe!

Ingredients:

250g paneer, cut into cubes

1/2 cup thick yogurt

1 tbsp gram flour (besan)

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

1 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp garam masala

1 tsp chaat masala

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp mustard oil

Salt to taste

1 onion, cut into petals

1 capsicum, diced

Skewers (for grilling)

Instructions:

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix yogurt, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, chaat masala, lemon juice, mustard oil, and salt. Whisk until smooth.

Marinate the Paneer: Add paneer cubes, onion, and capsicum to the marinade. Mix gently, ensuring even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Grill the Paneer:

Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Arrange paneer on skewers and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

Stovetop Method: Heat a grill pan, brush with oil, and cook paneer for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Serve: Sprinkle with chaat masala and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.

Tips for the Best Paneer Tikka:

Use fresh, firm paneer to prevent breaking.

For extra smokiness, place a hot charcoal piece in the bowl of marinated paneer, add a few drops of ghee, and cover for 5 minutes.

Adjust spice levels to your preference.

Paneer Tikka is a crowd-pleaser that brings restaurant-style flavors to your home. Enjoy it as an appetizer or stuff it into a wrap for a wholesome meal!
