Serves: 10–12 rolls
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
For Pista Dough:
Pistachios (unsalted, shelled) – 1 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Milk powder – 2 tbsp (optional, for richness)
Milk – 2–3 tbsp (as needed)
For Silver Coating (optional):
Edible silver foil (varak) – 1 sheet
Instructions:
1. Make Pistachio Dough:
Grind pistachios into a fine powder.
In a pan, mix powdered pistachios, sugar, and cardamom powder.
Add milk and milk powder, cook on low heat while stirring.
Cook until it forms a soft dough that leaves the pan sides.
Let it cool slightly, then knead into a smooth, pliable dough.
2. Roll and Shape:
Divide the dough into small equal parts.
Roll each into a smooth log shape or cylinder (about 2–3 inches long).
Optionally, wrap each with edible silver foil for a festive look.
3. Cool and Serve:
Place them on a clean ceramic plate.
Chill for 10–15 minutes before serving for better shape and texture.
Serving Tip:
Garnish with slivered pistachios or rose petals for a royal touch. Best enjoyed with a cup of saffron tea or served at festivals and celebrations.
