Indulge in the rich, chocolaty goodness of homemade chocolate donuts! These soft, fluffy donuts are coated with a luscious chocolate glaze, making them the perfect treat for any occasion. Here’s a simple recipe to make these decadent donuts at home.

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

1/4 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup hot water

For the Chocolate Glaze:

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 tablespoon butter

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Making the Donuts:

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or lightly butter it.

Mix the Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet Ingredients:

In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined. The batter will be thick.

Add Hot Water:

Gradually add the hot water to the batter, stirring until smooth. The batter will loosen up and become easier to spoon.

Fill the Donut Pan:

Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Use a spatula to smooth the tops.

Bake the Donuts:

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.

Making the Chocolate Glaze:

Melt the Glaze Ingredients:

In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, heavy cream, and butter. Heat over low heat, stirring until smooth and melted.

Add Vanilla:

Stir in the vanilla extract. Let the glaze cool slightly before dipping the donuts.

Glazing the Donuts:

Dip the Donuts:

Once the donuts are cooled, dip the top of each donut into the chocolate glaze, coating it generously.

Serve and Enjoy:

Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your freshly made, chocolaty donuts with a cup of coffee or tea!

Tips:

For extra texture, sprinkle the glazed donuts with sprinkles or chopped nuts.

You can also make these donuts in a mini size by using a mini donut pan.
