In a move to support citizens and put people first, The Overdressed, a luxury and retail platform which was set to take place on the 6th of March in the Capital has postponed it's event in the wake of the Covid19 outbreak.

As the health ministry confirmed as many as 23 new cases - all in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur - taking the total number of people who have so far been infected to 29, the organisers took the brave decision to put off the event to a later date. Most exhibitions whether in leading hotels, exhibit centres or fairs have a very high footfall which could leave one vulnerable in small but highly crowded spaces.

Women entrepreneurs Sonali Kapur and Samiksha Chopra who have created one the Capital's leading platforms for lifestyle and fashion, told IANSlife that, "We support entrepreneurs, small businesses showcasing the best in luxury that India has to offer. But we are conscious citizens first. In consideration of the on-going global health implications of Cornonavirus, we took the decision to postpone the event."

The Overdressed which takes place twice a year has exhibitors from around the country and features leading brands like Tyaani by Karan Johar, Varun Bahl, Meraki, Shriya Som, Kaj Fine Jewellery, a few from a long list of names.

The Capital plays host to a number of lifestyle, hospitality events and fairs in the month of March, where large crowds assemble in both B2C and B2B platforms. It's a wait and watch to see if it'll be business as usual for other platforms while the number of COVID19 cases go up.
