With the aim of raising awareness about yoga, the Ministry of Ayush shared a post on the social media platform X detailing the benefits of *Bhadrasana*. The Ministry stated that *Bhadrasana* is a yoga posture that imparts stability to both the body and mind and is considered beneficial for various aspects of health.
In its post, the Ministry of Ayush said, "Did you know that *Bhadrasana* strengthens both your body and mind? It is a yoga posture that strengthens the knees and hips, reduces abdominal tension, and is particularly beneficial for women's health and during pregnancy. Let us incorporate it into our daily routine, but keep in mind that individuals suffering from arthritis and sciatica should avoid practicing it."
A video message accompanying the post explained that *Bhadrasana* is also known as 'The Auspicious Pose' in English. This posture provides stability and strength to both the body and mind. Regular practice strengthens the bones in the knees and hips and can provide relief from knee pain.
The video further highlighted that *Bhadrasana* helps alleviate abdominal tension. It is considered beneficial for relieving menstrual cramps and other discomforts experienced by women. Additionally, the posture is noted to be useful for pregnant women.
However, the Ministry of Ayush also advised caution. According to the Ministry, individuals suffering from acute arthritis or sciatica should not practice *Bhadrasana*.
Earlier, in another post, the Ministry of Ayush had shared information regarding the importance of yoga and the benefits of *Tadasana*. The Ministry stated in the post, "Yoga is not about performing difficult asanas; it is about simple and effortless movements that keep our bodies flexible. As we age, these yoga asanas should become a part of our daily lives. Tadasana, or the Mountain Pose, is one of the most essential beginner yoga asanas. It provides a gentle stretch to the entire body and improves posture."
