Everyone desires clear, radiant skin these days, yet factors like dust, dirt, sweat, and rising pollution lead to various facial skin issues. Blackheads and whiteheads are among the most common of these problems.

These tiny bumps often appear around the nose, chin, and forehead. Instead of looking clear, the face can appear dull and lifeless because of them. While many people purchase expensive beauty products to remove them, simple home remedies can also be effective in cleansing the skin. One such remedy is a rice-based scrub, which helps clear away accumulated dirt and impurities from the face.

Blackheads and whiteheads occur when natural oils (sebum), dirt, and dead skin cells accumulate in the skin's pores. When a pore remains open and the trapped debris comes into contact with air, the surface oxidizes and turns black—forming what are known as 'blackheads.' Conversely, when this debris remains trapped beneath the skin's surface, it appears as a white bump, known as a 'whitehead.' Therefore, regular facial cleansing is essential to prevent these issues.

Rice is considered beneficial for the skin because its grains help gently remove accumulated dirt. When rice is ground to a coarse texture, the tiny particles work to exfoliate dead skin cells from the face's surface, leaving the skin feeling cleaner and fresher.

To make this scrub, start by coarsely grinding some rice in a mixer; ensure it does not turn into a fine powder. Next, add a little raw milk. Milk helps soften the skin and loosens the grip of dirt and impurities. Then, add some rose water, which is known for its cooling and refreshing properties. Mix these three ingredients together to form a thick paste.

Once the paste is ready, apply it to your face. After this, massage gently using circular motions for a few minutes. Pay a little extra attention to the area around the nose, as blackheads are most commonly found there. The small rice particles help remove dirt and excess oil accumulated on the skin's surface.

After massaging, wash your face with lukewarm water. Don't forget to apply moisturizer afterwards; the skin needs hydration after scrubbing, and applying moisturizer helps keep it soft.
