Ingredients

500 grams mawa (khoya)

150 grams powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

2 tablespoons chopped almonds

2 tablespoons chopped pistachios

1 tablespoon ghee

A few saffron strands, optional

Method

Heat a heavy-bottomed pan and add the ghee.

Crumble the mawa and add it to the pan.

Cook the mawa on low to medium heat, stirring continuously to prevent it from sticking.

Add milk and continue cooking until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly thick.

Add powdered sugar and mix well. Cook until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

Add cardamom powder and saffron strands, if using.

Grease a tray or plate with a little ghee and transfer the mixture to it.

Spread evenly and garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.

Allow it to cool completely and set for 1 to 2 hours.

Cut into square or diamond-shaped pieces and serve.
