In today's fast-paced life, conditions like obesity, constipation, sinus issues, asthma, and stress have become common. Practicing Kapalbhati for just 10 minutes alongside medical treatment can help alleviate some of these physical ailments.

In yogic scriptures, Kapalbhati is considered a part of both *Shatkarma* (cleansing techniques) and *Pranayama* (breath control). It is believed that Kapalbhati not only expels toxins from the body but also dispels negative thoughts and enhances concentration.

It is a simple yet highly effective yoga practice that involves forceful exhalation, while inhalation occurs naturally. Practicing it for just a few minutes daily benefits both the body and the mind.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, it strengthens the digestive system. It activates abdominal muscles, thereby increasing blood circulation to the intestines and improving the activity of digestive enzymes. This provides relief from issues such as gas, constipation, acidity, and indigestion. Regular practice improves appetite and helps eliminate toxins from the body.

Kapalbhati does more than just cleanse the abdomen; it also promotes mental peace and sharpens memory. Forceful exhalation clears the lungs and supplies oxygen to the brain, leading to improved memory, concentration, and mental clarity. It reduces stress, anxiety, and restlessness, helping to stabilize and calm the mind.

Additionally, it boosts immunity. Kapalbhati expels toxins from the body and improves blood circulation. This accelerates antibody production and strengthens the body's ability to fight diseases, helping to prevent common ailments like viral infections, the flu, and the cold and cough.

Patients with high blood pressure or heart disease should not practice it. It is contraindicated for pregnant women and during menstruation. Individuals with a hernia or a history of major abdominal surgery should not attempt it without consulting an expert.
